Stephen Ng was born, raised & educated in Dunedin. He has lived in Hamilton for over 20 years where he practises as an ophthalmologist (eye surgeon). On a national level, he has led eye healthcare advocacy campaigns and a Ministry of Health expert advisory group for eye healthcare. He is active in research on eyelid cancer surgery and measures to address unequal access to eye healthcare in the community. His governance experience includes chairing the Save Sight Society of New Zealand and the Board of Trustees of Hamilton Boys’ High School.
