The Hospice Waikato Foundation is responsible for the long term interests of Hospice Waikato, including raising funds for capital works and managing and growing a portfolio of investments for the benefit of Hospice, whereas the Hospice Trust Board is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Hospice and all operational expenditure.
Hospice Waikato is partly funded by the District Health Board, with the balance funded by the generosity of the people of the Waikato. That’s why we established the Hospice Waikato Foundation – to provide the financial back up and support for the hospice so that it may continue to help future generations of people and their families/whānau dealing with life limiting conditions. As the Foundation grows it will be there to support not only the immediate financial needs of the hospice but also provide funding for future capital requirements.
