Health Care Assistant - Casual

We have two areas suitable for casual Healthcare Assistants:

In-patient Unit – where our team is centered on providing excellent care for adult patients. Our HCAs work across three shift times, an AM shift (7am - 3.30pm), a PM shift (2.30pm - 11pm) and a night shift (11pm – 7.30am). These shifts run 7 days a week.

Rainbow Place - who are proud to journey alongside whaanau to ensure tamariki and rangatahi receive the best skilled care and experiences. The shifts times for this unit are Tuesday to Friday, an AM shift (7am - 3.30pm), a PM shift (2.30pm - 11pm) and a night shift (11pm – 7.30am), alongside one of our paediatric Registered Nurses.

To be the right fit for this role you will need:

• Previous experience in a caring role
• Experience working with adult patients or children and young people if interested in Rainbow Place
• Comfortable working around people experiencing grief and loss
• Emotional maturity, resilience, creativity, a sense of fun
• Passion and energy

Having a New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing – Level 3 or 4, a current first aid certificate, a current full New Zealand driver’s license and being comfortable using technology would also be beneficial.

Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment health screening (including drug testing) and complete a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, the results of which must be to Hospice Waikato’s satisfaction. Applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work visa.
