My life, my story - making a memory book

My life, my story - making a memory book

Reflecting, reviewing and recording oneโ€™s life experience is seen as having a therapeutic effect and is a privilege as a volunteer.

You can help our patients relate their memories, convey messages and express their hopes and dreams. Volunteers need to be reasonably computer literate and have an interest in biography and recording oral histories, while working with patients with life-limiting illnesses. Volunteers must attend a two day orientation to gain the knowledge you will need to work with terminally ill patients.

Visiting times are agreed between the patient/family and volunteer, however you would normally visit once a week for up to an hour, then transcribing time at home would be additional.

Our Manager of Volunteer Services, Karen Mansfield, is happy to talk with you if you are interested in finding out more about how you can help. Please call Karen on 07 859 1260 or email [email protected].
