Reception and Adminstration

Our reception volunteers are often the first person a patient and their family will meet at when they come to Hospice Waikato – which makes this a vital volunteer role.

Hospice Waikato Administration Reception
This is attended in two shifts covering 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. The receptionists are required to perform the following duties:

• Greet visitors and patients to Hospice Waikato
• Escort visitors to the Inpatient Unit
• Answer the phone
• Sort mail
• Keeping the Reception area tidy and welcoming
• Stuffing envelopes
• Assembling patient packs
• Assisting staff with general administration duties


Inpatient Unit (IPU) Reception

This is attended in two shifts covering 9.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. The receptionists are required to perform the following duties:

• Greet visitors and patients to Hospice Waikato
• Escort visitors to patients’ rooms
• Ensure visitors are restricted when requested
• Liaise with Inpatient Unit staff
• Answer the phone
